It’s almost Girl Scout Week, and do you know what that means? We’re turning 105 years old! March 12 is Girl Scouts’ official birthday, and the beginning of Girl Scout Week! It’s that special time of year when Girl Scouts young and old show the world how to be a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™.
We made a list of ways to celebrate each day, so check it out! Keep the merriment going the whole week long! Also: don’t miss the list from GSUSA!
Sunday, March 12 | Girl Scouts’ Birthday | Girl Scout Sunday
Make a bulletin insert to share with your church! Get the name of all Girl Scouts at your church or place of worship and share something cool you’ve done this year, or are planning to do this year!
Also: Have a GS birthday party! We think 105 years is certainly worth celebrating. Maybe even with cupcakes…
Monday, March 13 | Girl Scout Selfie Day
Show your friends that you’re a Girl Scout! Snap a photo of you with your troop, OR turn the camera around and take an #elsie! (a photo of someone ELSE) of your favorite Girl Scout! Share them on your social media pages or our Facebook page!
Take a hike or a walk, ride your bike, or just sit outside and enjoy the changing seasons! Being in the outdoors has been an important part of Girl Scouts since the beginning, and today is no exception. You don’t have to have an agenda– just get outside and see what happens! Do it for Juliette!
Wednesday, March 15 | Random Acts of Kindness Day
This is the day to shower kindness for no reason other than making others feel happy and appreciated. Maybe it’s helping someone out at school, being an encouraging and complementary friend, or going out of your way to thank someone for their time and work. Get creative! Who needs some kindness in your community? What about your school or neighborhood? Check out the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation for inspiration!
Whether you’ve been a Girl Scout for one year or 31 years – you’ve definitely made lots of fun Girl Scout memories! Share your favorite #throwbackThursday photo and memory on your social media pages or our Facebook page!
Friday, March 17 | Wear Green Day! | St. Patrick’s Day
Green is not only the official color of Girl Scouts everywhere, but it’s also the color of the day: St. Patrick’s Day! Wear your Girl Scout green today, whether it’s a T-shirt, your vest, or a fun Girl Scout accessory to show that you are a proud Girl Scout! Added bonus: You’ll avoid getting pinched all day long!
Saturday, March 18 | Girl Scout Sabbath
As Girl Scout Week comes to a close, celebrate Girl Scout Sabbath at your place of worship. Use our official logo to make a flyer that recognizes all the Girl Scouts that you worship with.
